Gunpoint is a stealth-based puzzle game from Suspicious Developments. The puzzles seem to be quite tough, and the Badges and Ratings for each level make the game even more challenging. A good 5 hours well spent.

In this chapter, observe the following first. A crate right where you start, a ladder to climb up, a lever shutting off the drainage and causing the water to fill the area and after climbing the ladder a metal block with a grab handle on its right side. Grab the crate and pull it till it is right under the metal block. Pull the lever to the left to shut the drainage. Quickly run up the ladder, grab hold of the metal block and pull it towards the right, leaving a gap large enough for the floating crate to pass through. When the water level rises a convenient level, jump on the crate and wait to be able to reach the next ladder to climb up. Climb up the ladder, move right and pull the crate in the cave outside. Wait for the water level to rise and lift this crate so that you can climb on to the edge. Run towards the right and fall onto the slope. As you move down the slope, time your jump to climb the second edge that you see. Now in this scene, observe a metal block with a grab handle on its left side, a ball with a chain attached to it, and a rising water level. Pull the metal block to the left, leaving gap enough for the ball to rise up. Wait for the ball to tear apart its chains and jump up. When the ball is above the metal block, push the metal block to close the gap and leave the ball on top. Push the ball all the way to the right and run back left to climb the ladder. Move right and stand on the crate waiting for the water level to rise and lift the crate up to the edge. Jump onto the edge and continue right till you reach a ladder. In this scene, observe two levers, two pits with water and a metal block in each pit. The lever at the bottom controls the connection between the two pits, distributing the water between them. The lever on the top controls the block in the second pit and hence the water level (level increases when the block is in the water). Push the first lever to distribute some water from the second pit into the first pit, thus raising the block in the first pit enough for you to jump to the second lever. Pull the first lever again to close the partition among the pits. Climb the ladder, jump onto the first block and then to the second lever. Pull this lever to put the block inside the water increasing the level enough for you to jump across this pit. Continue right till you see a bright light source. You are through chapter 18 of Limbo.

While moving right, notice that a mouse like creature is trying to get at the white drops on the ledge and it runs away from you as you approach it. Climb up the edge on the right and jump left onto the ledge. Jump on the ledge a couple of times till the white drops fall down and the mouse run to chew on it. Jump down to the right of the mouse and chase it left all the way to the contraption. The mouse will start running inside the wheel and power the contraption. Jump up the ledge to the left and push the lever to the left till something short-circuits and it starts raining. Keep moving right till you see a pit with a log at the bottom. Jump inside the pit and pull the log left just enough for you to jump and grab the broken pipe on the left. Do not pull it too far left, lest you wont be able to jump across the pit. Once back up, jump and grab the hanging chain. This should place the rainwater collecting pipes in place and cause the water the fill the pit and bring the log up. Once the pit is full, jump off the chain and run right, using the log to cross the pit. Continue forward a long way till you find a lengthy slope leading to a waist-deep water pool with a crate nearby. You are through chapter 17 of Limbo.

Move right till the white liquid (worm) falls on your head. What the worm makes you do is turn around and keep moving, while not alowing you to turn back. You will only turn around again when a bright source of light falls on your head. So as soon as the worm falls on your head, you start moving left, till you face sunlight, and then you turn back forward. Go down the slope and jump across the pit of water to find some kind of creatures snapping their teeth in air when you pass under it. While moving forward, jump across the crate and into the sunlight to turn around again. Now while moving left, push the crate till it is right under those strange creatures, climb on to it, and then jump left so that the creatures can eat the worm on your head. You are now free again, and are in complete control of yourself. Continue right till you hear a buzzing sound and some contraptions. You are through chapter 16 of Limbo.

Timing is critical in this chapter and margin for error is slim. Climb down the ladder and move left to find a wheeled cart. Pull it towards the right, as right as possible, then climb on it and jump to its left. Go back up the ladder and jump right to find a hanging rope and two spiky wheels. Jump onto the rope to find it unwind down slowly. Keep moving up the rope till it stops unwinding. After this, timing is critical. Jump off the rope to your left (notice the rope going back up), jump down to your left, move right and climb the wheeled cart, and quickly jump to the right to grab hold of the receding rope till it is pulled as much down as possible (if you dont get it right the first time, keep repeating). You can take a breather here. Notice another rope to your right, and two blockades on your path. The blockades are controlled by the ropes. The left rope controls the left blockade and the right rope the right one. Both the ropes go down (and the blockade goes up) when you hang on it, and the ropes go up (and the blockades back down) when you jump off the ropes. This is how you should time it; jump of the first rope and run, jump and grab hold of the second rope to pull it down. Here, you should notice that the second blockade is going up while the first one is coming back down. Wait on the second rope till both the blockades are equally off the ground, and then jump to your right and run. Like is said, margin for error is slim in this chapter. Continue right till you see a white droplet-like thing hanging from a weed. You are through chapter 15 of Limbo.

The start is quite tricky. You can see a metal press above you ready to crush you when you step on the pressure plate. There is a pair of such contraptions ahead. For the first press, the slight elevation right underneath the press is NOT the pressure plate. So jump on it, then far across so as not to step on the pressure plates. For the second press, the slight elevation right underneath is the pressure plate, jump across without stepping on it. Moving right, jump across the spike pit to see some attackers straight ahead. Jump back across the pit while your attackers follow you. Only two of the hostiles will make it across the pit to your side. Keep runing left while avoiding the press by not steping on the pressure plates (remember, on your way back, the first press is activated by the slight elevation, and for the second press the slight elevation is safe). Your assilants will be taken down by the press. Now run towards the right freely, jump across the pit and continue forward till you see a ladder going down. You are through chapter 14 of Limbo.

Move right till you pass the water puddle and near the pool. You can't jump across by using the dead bodies in the water, yet. Wait for a zombie-like guy to walk to the water, trip and fall. He will slowly float towards you. Now you can jump on it, and cross the pool. Before going right, take a dead body along with you (you will know why soon enough). Grab the dead body closest to you and walk right. Push him onto the trip-wired pit to watch the huge rock fall from above. Now it is safe to cross. Now walk right down the slope and keep moving right. You are through chapter 13 of Limbo.

Keep moving right and skid down the slope, climb up the ladder and then to the left. Move left and jump onto the cage with the man and then onto the second cage which had the bird on top. Jump on it a couple of times to have it fall down, while falling down yourself. Now push the fallen crate towards the right, down the slope and all the way to the cliff. Jump onto the cage, and climb up the edge and continue right. You are through chapter 12 of Limbo.

Moving right, push the log into the water and jump on it and continue right. The following spider makes sure that you do not have time to wait around and have to keep running. Jump onto the rock in the water, then onto the log and then onto land. Coninue right and onto the log which is like a see-saw. You will not be able to jump across to the edge just yet, so stand on the right end of the log and wait for the spider to close in on you. When it steps on the left end of the log and you are pushed up, jump to your right onto the edge and climb up. Continue towards the right to see a tree stump. Push it down, jump on it and jump across the pit. Climb up and keep running right. You will see a large boulder kept in its place by a piece of wood. Jump on the wood till it breaks and then quickly run left and jump down the edge. Stick close to the corner to see the boulder roll onto the spider trying to climb up and take the spider along with it to the pit. Climb back up and continue right. Jump onto the fallen tree , across the tree and back onto land. Continue right down the slope till you slide down and continue right till you see a pit full of spikes. Just then, the spider would be back on your left, but with just it head and a leg, struggling to inch towards you. Approach the spider, but not too close lest you get stung. But close enough to have it strike at you leaving enough time to run back. After it strikes, quickly run and grab its leg and start yanking till it comes off. That should sap the remaining life out of the spider and leave its head for you. Jump to the left of its head and push it to the right till it falls into the pit. Jump onto the head and then onto the edge on the right and climb up. Continue right till you see a hanging cage with a bird on top. You are through chapter 11 of Limbo.

This chapter starts off tricky but is short. Continue right. Observe two bear traps tied to ropes on top of a ledge. They will fall when you near it. The one on the left will fall first swinging towards the right and the one on the right will fall next swinging towards the left. The trick is in standing at the right position. Stand right where the first trap would miss you, and as soon as it crosses you, run to the right without wasting any time. You should miss the second trap as well. The second bear trap will fall off the rope, leaving the rope free to climb. Climb onto the rope and jump onto the ledge on your right. Jump across the two ledges towards the right and continue forward. You are through Chapter 10 of Limbo.

Move right and jump across the pit. As you move right you will see a burning wheel coming straight at you. It is too big to jump across it, so you will have to retreat back and jump across the pit. Watch the wheel fall into the water. Now move right again, jump across the pit and continue forward. Now when you move right, a burning rock will fall from above and come at you. This rock is small enough for you to jump across, so jump. Keep moving right and climb the ladder up, jump left and grab the edge and climb up. Move left and climb the next ladder up and climb onto the edge to the right. Continue forward. You are through with Chapter 9 of Limbo.

Move right to the next stump. Observe a log resting on a piece of stick. Jump on the stick to break it. Jump back to the stump right after the stick breaks to miss the log's fall on your head. Jump to the fallen log to jump across to the next stump. This stump will fall right as soon as you step on it. Time your jump to the next stump to land safely. The next jump is a bit tricky. As soon as you jump the to next stump, a hanging boulder will swing right at you. Time your next jump to reach across safely. To time it corectly, jump right when the boulder breaks through the stump on your right. Slide down the slope and time your jump across the field of spikes. Keep moving to your right till a mechanical spider leg blocks your way. It will not lift its leg if you stand there. Move a bit to the left till it lifts its leg and then run right. You might have to repeat this a couple of times till you get it right. Move right to see a figure who was controlling the spider leg run as he sees you crossing. You are through Chapter 8 of Limbo.

Move right and jump onto the huge boulder. As soon as you jump onto it, it will start rolling. As it rolls, make sure you are near the top of the boulder at all times, lest you fall down and have a SpikeDeath. Keep hopping left at equal intervals maintaining your position near the top of the boulder. When the boulder smashes at the other end, jump off it and onto the slope. On your way down your web cocoon will be ripped off and you will be freed by the time you reach down. Get up and keep moving right to see a guy tied to a stick. When you approach him the ground will give away and you will fall down. Move right and find the hanging rope. Observe that there is a bear trap near the rope. This bear trap will fall when you swing. So as soon as you jump onto the rope jump out of it to the right. Watch the bear trap fall and miss your head on it way. You will not be able to climb the edge. Now come back left and jump onto the rope again. This time swing hard with the rope and jump across to the edge. Keep moving right to find some tree stumps. Jump across them to the third one. You are through Chapter 7 of Limbo.

Move right. Observe that if you hold down the movement button, you will hop farther, and if you tap the movement button, you will hop a little. Use this combination to jump across the gap. Take short hops till you reach the edge of the gap and take a long hop to cross it. Continue right till the slope. At the slope, you will slide down. Time the jump to your right so that you dont fall into the pit. You should see a boulder and a rock to the right. Push the boulder by ramming into it. Push it just so much so as to see it rolling down. As soon as it starts rolling on its own, retreat back in haste (you will see why). When the log falls down and forms a bridge, cross it and continue right. You are through Chapter 6 of Limbo.

Move right to see giant spider-legs. You will die if it stings you. Move towards it slowly while observing its movements. It will not attack till you reach close enough. Its attack starts with bringing one of its legs up before the strike. When it does that, move back left. Timing is critical. If you retreat too early, the spider will not strike, and if you retreat to late, you are dead. If you time it correctly, the spider will strike the ground. Repeat this so that the spider strikes the ground again. This time, hear a metallic cling-clang. It is the sound of the bear trap on the tree branch when it fell down. Go back to find the bear trap on the ground and jump to its left. Push the bear trap towards the right till you reach close to the giant spider-legs. Approach the spider slowly while still pushing the bear trap. When the spider lifts its leg to attack, move back left, while still holding the bear trap. Notice that the strike is always on the same spot, the spot where you were standing when the spider was aiming. Repeat this such that, when you move back, the bear trap is right where the spider-leg would strike, snapping the tip of its leg off. Repeat this once again to snap the second leg. Observe that after the second leg is snapped, the spider attacks even if you are farther than usual, so retreat farther back. When the spider withdraws after its strike, repeat this once more to snap the third leg. The spider is hurt and leaves the area. Now that the area is not blocked, keep moving right till you get caught in the spider webs on the ground. No matter what you do, you will not be able to free yourself. The spider will then pick you up and spin a web all around you and hang you there to your doom. When the spider leaves, swing left and right in a hope to free yourself. You will snap of the ceiling and fall down. Move right away from the spider's lair. You will not be able to walk or run, but only hop. You are through Chapter 5 of Limbo.

Jump onto the log to see that it slips and you find a huge boulder on its way to smash you. Quickly jump back to your left. When the boulder reaches you, jump on to it and cross the log. Keep moving right till you reach a pool with a floating broken crate. Pull the crate back to the left till you see a hanging rope. Place the crate right below it, climb onto it and jump up to grab hold of the rope. Stay near the bottom of the rope and swing yourself left and right (by pressing the left and right movement buttons. Hold left till you reach the left end, and while you start your journey right, hold the right. Repeat this till your swing strong). Jump at the right time onto the branch to your right. From this branch, you have to keep climb the branches by jumping across them till you reach the top. First jump left, then left again, then right again. At this point you should be blocked by a snapped part of the tree to your right and you should find a hanging rop to your left. You can jump left onto the rope, repeat the swinging part, jump to the left branch to get the easter egg. Return to the snapped tree and push it. It will fall all the way down. Find your way back down (retrace your steps up, left, left, right, right, and then fall down). Move right towards the log you just pushed down and push it into the water. Grab the boat and pull it to the right till the end. Jump onto it and then climb onto the edge of the wall. Jump to your right onto the wall to catch hold of the creeper. Climb up and then jump to your left to get hold of the rope. Climb up the rope till the top, and then jump onto the edge of the cliff. Keep moving to your right till you face two bear traps side by side which you cannot jump across. Grab the bear trap on the left and pull it left. Pull it enough so that you can jump the bear traps one at a time. Jump across both the bear traps and keep moving right till you find a weed laden rope hanging from a branch and a bear trap towards the right. The heavy weed does not allow you enough elevation to jump onto the edge. To get rid of the weed, pull the bear trap to the left till it is right below the rope. Climb back to your left and jump onto the rope. The weed gets caught in the bear trap and you will be pulled up enough to jump onto the edge on your right. Keep moving right till you find a fallen tree. You are through Chapter 3 of Limbo.

Pull the cart towards the left and climb on to it.  Jump on to the ledge and run towards the right. Jump onto the rope and get hold of it. Climb down the rope and fall on to the hanging ledge. Jump off the ledge from the left and then jump across the water pool to the right. Keep moving right and jump onto the boat. The boat should be set free automatically. Wait for the boat to reach the other end, and then jump off the boat. You are through Chapter 2 of Limbo.

Hitman: Codename 47 - Walkthrough - Mission 3 - Ambush in the Wang Fou Restaurant

Hitman: Codename 47 is one of the best games I have ever played. Hence I would like to dedicate myself to writing a walkthrough / game guide for the game to guide those who really want to get the best out of Hitman: Codename 47.

My intent is to live the life of Agent 47 as a Stealth Assassin and not a bloody killer taking advantage of not-so-intelligent AI (for example, guards rushing from a corner only to be victim to a massacre). Hence, I will try to complete missions with as little firepower and bloodshed as possible.

I have provided Gameplay videos to guide you through the game or just have fun watching a nostalgic memory.

Hitman: Codename 47 - Mission 3 - Ambush in the Wang Fou Restaurant

This is one of my favorite missions. Short and sweet (not the best choice of words, agreed, how about light and crisp?). I like this mission because it is the first mission which you solve all by yourself by exploring the environment.



Mission Summary

Your ultimate mission in Hong Kong is to assassinate Lee Hong, the leader of the Red Dragons. But getting close to him is difficult when there is an alliance of the Red Dragons with the Blue Lotus and also Police protection. You have already killed a Red Dragon member during his negotiation with Blue Lotus on Blue Lotus territory. This has increased the tensions between the two gangs. The objective of this mission is to destroy the alliance completely.

In this mission, Agent 47 is required to assassinate a Blue Lotus negotiator during his negotiation with the Red Dragon at the Wang Fou Restaurant. Since the assassination would take place on Red Dragon soil, the Blue Lotus would feel they are taking revenge and have no intention of a truce. This would ensure an all out war between the two gangs.

Difficulty- 4/10

Walkthrough:

Summary-
1. Kill car driver and put on his uniform.
2. Place the car bomb in the car.
3. Blow up the car killing all Blue Lotus members.

Detailed-
1. Wait and watch the car approach from your right. Once it passes walk through the alley to get to the street parallel to where you started. Watch the car arrive and stop in front of the Restaurant. Watch the cutscene and observe that the car driver also leaves the car.
2. Follow the car driver till he stops near a drain to stand there staring at the wall doing nothing. Stand beside him, crouch, take out the fibre wire, and take him out. Take care that civilians walking around do not see you. You need to crouch before taking the fibre wire out, lest you want your potential victim to hear the 'tzing' sound, turn around and make your life difficult. Once killed, drag him inside the drain quickly before the civilians come back to see a corpse lying around. Climb down the drain yourself, put on the driver's clothes, and get back up. I hope you get yourself a new pair of shoes after this mission.
3. Approach the car door (the driver's side). Take out the car bomb and activate the car to place it inside. Notice how the Blue Lotus negotiator completes his negotiation at the exact time you place the bomb and decides to leave.
4. Rush back to where you started this mission from and wait for the car. DO NOT blow up the car as soon as the Blue Lotus negotiator gets into the car. Wait for the car to be close to the three Blue Lotus members standing near your starting position. Blow the car when it is about to take the final turn to leave the area. If you timed it correctly, all the Blue Lotus members would have been killed without need for further effort.
5. Walk back to your car in style!

This is one of the easiest missions given to Agent 47, and rightfully so since it is the first one. This mission is the first part of the Hong Kong series of missions.



Mission Summary

Walkthrough:

Summary-
1. Find good vantage point for sniping
2. Snipe Red Dragon negotiator when he is in conversation
3. Escape without being detected back to the black pick-up car. Walk out in style instead of running away.

Detailed-
1. Proceed forward from where you are dropped and take a right to find an alley between the buildings connecting to another road. You should be able to see the entrance to the park. Proceed forward till the entrance is to your right. To your left, find the elevator and proceed to the roof.
2. On reaching the roof, open the Sniper case and assemble your Blaser Jagdwaffen R93 Sniper. Go towards the side of the terrace facing the park. Find a good point so that you can clearly snipe someone at the center of the park. This shall be your vantage point. Now wait for the Red Dragon negotiator to arrive.
3. Watch the cutscene showing tons of Blue Lotus members exiting from a limousine along with the Blue Lotus negotiator. Observe another limousine park towards the left of the park when seen from the vantage point. Watch another cutscene showing tons of Blue Lotus members exiting from the limousine along with the Red Dragon negotiator. You are free to kill him as and when you feel like, but I personally like to use the Sniper against a still target. So wait for the Red Dragon negotiator to walk towards the center of the park and start his conversation with the Blue Lotus negotiator after a courteous bow.
4. Aim for the Red Dragons head (chest is also fine, but head shot is a sure kill). Wait till your wobble is steadier and take your shot. Watch the Red Dragon fly (if he doesn't die, he will run towards the car. It would be difficult to take him out with the sniper when he is at this speed. If you have brought a pistol, arm yourself and wait for him to come out the gate and near his car. With right timing, you should be able to take him out near the car. You would have a better timing if you had practiced with pistols in your training mission).
5. This should alert the guards and the Blue Lotus will send a guard on a Helicopter. Rush to your sniper case and dismantle your sniper back into the case. Rush to the elevator but stay on the far side of the elevator and wait for the helicopter guard to face away. Activate the elevator and proceed down.
6. Walk out in style in front of all the Blue Lotus guards towards your pick-up car (where you started).

Hitman: Codename 47 - Mission 1 - Training


For the sake of completion, I would also like to include a short walkthrough for the Training mission as well, knowing well that there might not be one soul who would ever need it.



Mission Summary

This mission trains Agent 47 in the art of 'walking', 'running', 'climbing', 'gathering', 'opening doors', 'activating the environment', and presents opportunities to (but ignores significance of) use the Knife, Fibre Wire, and firearms. It also shows how changing clothes can be an effective stealth operation.

Walkthrough:

1. Open the door right in front of you and enter the room.
2. Pick up the clothes and move ahead to the next room. Find another door in front and move forward.
3. Walk up to the railing to cross it automatically. Climb the ladder. Move forward to the next railing and watch 47 take a leap across the railings. Climb down the ladder by turning and walking backwards towards the ladder (This might be helpful in missions instead of falling). Jump into the pit and climb the ladder ahead. Exit to the next room.
4. Turn right and enter the elevator. Activate Basement 3
5. On reaching Basement 2, exit elevator and enter the room on the right to find a dummy right in front.
6. Spend some time in this room learning how the Knife and Fibre Wire work. Notice how the Fibre Wire attack is different from the front and the back. Only an attack from the back can kill your enemy. Notice that the Fibre Wire takes more time than the Oyabun Knife to consume its victim. Learn how to holster your weapons and switch between them. Once done practicing, exit to the next room.
7. Pick up the pistols and some ammo and practice firing at the target in the distance. Learn the accuracy of such weapons in the long range. You can activate the button near the firing range to bring the bulls-eye target close to observe your accuracy better. Observe that picking up two pistols allows you to wield a deadly dual pistol mode. Once done practicing, holster weapons and exit to the next room.
8. Pick up the Sub-Machine Guns and some ammo and proceed to the practice range. Walk through the make-shift practice arena for the SMGs while targets pop up at the windows. It doesn't matter if you even just walk across the range (so that you get trained in walking around with an unholstered Uzi). Walk across the range towards the elevator, call the elevator and activate it to go to Basement 2.
9. Exit the elevator to find a Shotgun, a Kalashinkov AK 103 and an R93 Sniper rifle. Get a feel of the firing accuracy of each weapon and the wobble when using a Sniper. Learn how to zoom in and out of the R93 Sniper rifle. Practice plenty with the sniper as, in later missions, it will be one of the weapons in which you will have to be point accurate or risk failing a mission. Exit the firing range towards the elevator and activate it to move to Basement 1.
10. You can take out the orderly in any way you like. I prefer using the sniper, for it will be a chance to shoot at a moving target and besides, it is already equipped. Once taken out, move close to him and Change Clothes. Wearing the elderly's clothes, move to the next room to a locked gate with an orderly behind it. Seeing you in orderly clothes, he will move forward and open the gate for you. Exit the gate and walk forward.

I always have an eerie feeling watching the cutscene at the end of the training mission.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Harry vs Slytherin Dueling 5 Star - Game Guide and Walkthrough











Getting 5 Stars in Dueling is quite easy if you get the hang of disabling your opponent with disabling spells like Petrificus Totalus, Expelliarmus or Levicorpus. This walkthrough / game guide also helps in defeating opponents in one single shot. It kind of made the dueling system pretty easy if you ask me.



Step 1. Cast a disabling spell (Petrificus Totalus, Expelliarmus or Levicorpus) successfully on your opponent to disable them.

Step 2. Charge your Stupefy Spell up to 2 levels. You will know it is fully charged when you hear a 'click' sound two times. You can also see that Harry is holding his wand up and the glow at the end of the wand is brightest.

Step 3. Walk up close to your opponent. Walk as close as possible. Then release your Stupefy spell.

Any opponent, be it Goyle or Bellatrix Lestrange, will be defeated in one single shot. This is because the charged Stupefy launches multiple Stupefys in at different angles in front of Harry, all of which would hit the opponent if Harry is standing close to him/her.

How to maximize power of your spells

You can increase the power of your dueling spells by defeating the champion of each Dueling Club (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin). So as soon as you come across a Dueling club, ensure that you approach the notice board and defeat all opponents including the champion in that house.

How to Caste a Disabling Spell

You can only caste certain of these spells after learning it.

1. Expelliarmus - Rotate the mouse in the clockwise direction creating a circle. Keep creating circles to ensure you cast the spell. Once you see Harry casting the spell, stop the mouse action so that you don't cast again and waste valuable time.

2. Petrificus Totalus - Move the mouse up and down. Once you see Harry casting the spell, stop the mouse action so that you don't cast again and waste valuable time.

3. Levicorpus - Move the mouse left and right. Once you see Harry casting the spell, stop the mouse action so that you don't cast again and waste valuable time.

How cast a Fully Charged Stupefy Spell

Hold down the left mouse button and see the spell being charged. Wait till you here a click two times and see Harry hold the wand up with the spell glowing the brightest. Face your opponent and release the mouse button to defeat your opponent in a single shot.
